Job summary

Spencer Ogden is partnering with a rapidly growing utility contractor to appoint a Senior Project Manager to lead major high-voltage transmission and distribution projects across the U.S. This senior role covers full lifecycle management from preconstruction to closeout on large power delivery initiatives.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and subcontractors while mentoring other PMs and collaborating with field leadership to ensure safe, efficient execution and strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of project management in HV transmission, distribution or substation construction.
• Strong understanding of utility construction and field operations.
• Experience managing large budgets, forecasts, and change orders.
• Proven ability to lead Superintendents, Project Managers and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV transmission and distribution construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost-to-complete, SOVs, billing and financial performance.
• Oversee schedules, manpower, materials, equipment and subcontractors.
• Manage contracts, change orders, procurement and subcontractor agreements.
• Mentor Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.
• Maintain strong relationships with utilities, clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Lead client, subcontractor and internal project meetings.
• Identify project risks and implement recovery plans where required.

I’m partnering with a rapidly growing utility construction contractor looking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead major high-voltage transmission and distribution projects across the U.S.

This is a senior project leadership position with responsibility for the full lifecycle of complex power delivery projects, from preconstruction and planning through execution and closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead high-voltage transmission and distribution construction projects from preconstruction through completion
• Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost-to-complete, SOVs, billing and overall financial performance
• Oversee project schedules, manpower, materials, equipment and subcontractors
• Manage contracts, change orders, procurement and subcontractor agreements
• Partner closely with Superintendents and field leadership to ensure safe, efficient project execution
• Monitor labor productivity, material usage, project costs and schedule performance
• Lead client, subcontractor and internal project meetings
• Identify project risks and implement recovery plans where required
• Mentor Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers
• Maintain strong relationships with utilities, clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders

What We’re Looking For:

• 7–10+ years of Project Management experience within high-voltage transmission, distribution or substation construction
• Strong understanding of utility construction and field operations
• Experience managing large project budgets, forecasting, contracts and change orders
• Proven ability to lead Superintendents, Project Managers and subcontractors
• Strong commercial and client-facing capabilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or related discipline preferred
• PMP or similar professional certification is advantageous
• Willingness to travel nationally to support major projects
