Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day project operations, field coordination and project personnel.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget and cost performance.
• Coordinate subcontractors, field teams, engineers, owners and other project stakeholders.
• Plan construction sequencing, manpower, equipment and material requirements.
• Manage change orders, project documentation and contractual requirements.
• Forecast labor, equipment, material and management costs.
• Oversee job costing, accruals, revenue projections and overall project financial performance.
• Identify and resolve field, schedule and constructability issues.
• Develop and manage Project Engineers, Cost Engineers and project support staff.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.

IWH Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading civil infrastructure and energy contractor on a Senior Project Manager opportunity supporting a major high-voltage transmission infrastructure program in New York.

This position will sit on the heavy civil construction side of the project, working alongside the energy team to deliver complex utility and power infrastructure projects.

This is a construction management and execution role, not a design position. We are looking for someone who has spent meaningful time in the field managing heavy civil construction and understands how to take ownership of a large, technically complex project.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead day-to-day project operations, field coordination and project personnel
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget and cost performance
• Coordinate subcontractors, field teams, engineers, owners and other project stakeholders
• Plan construction sequencing, manpower, equipment and material requirements
• Manage change orders, project documentation and contractual requirements
• Forecast labor, equipment, material and management costs
• Oversee job costing, accruals, revenue projections and overall project financial performance
• Identify and resolve field, schedule and constructability issues
• Develop and manage Project Engineers, Cost Engineers and project support staff
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements

Ideal background:

• 10+ years of construction/project management experience
• Strong heavy civil construction background
• Experience with one or more of the following:
• Power transmission infrastructure
• Electrical duct banks
• Substations
• Utility relocations
• Major roadway infrastructure
• Bridges or tunnels
• Large-scale excavation and civil site work
• Direct field and construction execution experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with New York public agencies is a plus
• Strong understanding of project cost controls, scheduling and subcontractor management
• Experience with P6, Procore, HCSS and Microsoft Office
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to take ownership of complex project responsibilities
