Job summary

Kovach Enclosure Systems seeks a Senior Project Manager to own and drive complex glazing projects, coordinating Estimating, Contracts Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Field Operations. You will mentor PMs, optimize schedules, control costs, and ensure quality and safety while delivering profitable outcomes.

You will lead by example, applying deep glazing knowledge to plan, execute, and complete projects on time and within budget, fostering continuous improvement and team growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
  • Seven+ years of project management experience on glazing or façade projects.
  • Strong knowledge of glazing systems, materials and installation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Proficiency with project management software.
  • Certifications (PMP or glazing-related) are a plus.
  • Experience with large-scale commercial/industrial glazing projects.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and oversee glazing projects within timelines, budgets and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
  • Monitor progress and adjust to ensure successful completion.
  • Apply glazing systems knowledge to planning and execution; troubleshoot issues.
  • Manage budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities; report to leadership.
  • Liaise between Kovach and GC/Architect/Engineer/Owner throughout the project.
  • Review scope, contracts, and shop drawings for compliance.
  • Create and update Kovach Project Schedule regularly.
  • Perform material take-offs; control costs for materials and labor.
  • Generate monthly cost-to-completion reports and billing projections; manage change orders.
  • Oversee procurement: issue POs, track deliveries, and coordinate logistics.
  • Draft communications, RFI’s, and maintain stakeholder communications.

Summary:

As a Senior Project Manager at Kovach Enclosure Systems, you are expected to assume full ownership and visibility of projects while also taking a leadership role in coaching, mentoring, and developing Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers within the company. This position is responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of work through Estimating, Contracts Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Field Operations, while driving efficiency and profitability on every project. The Senior Project Manager will oversee the procurement of materials under budget, evaluate and implement value-engineered solutions, manage project schedules to meet deadlines and customer expectations, and direct the allocation of labor and materials to job sites. In addition, this role requires acting as a trusted point of contact for internal teams and customers, ensuring clear communication, timely issue resolution, and a commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence, all while fostering continuous improvement and the professional growth of the project management team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Plan, execute, and oversee glazing projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of glazing systems, materials, and installation techniques to project planning and execution. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the project. Stay updated on industry trends, innovations, and best practices.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring all expenditures are accounted for and within approved limits. Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality. Provide regular financial reports and updates to senior management.
  • Kovach Liaison: Act as the primary liaison between Kovach and key stakeholders, including General Contractor, Architect, Engineer, and Owner throughout the project duration.
  • Scope Review and Compliance: Review scope, contract documents, and Kovach shop drawings to ensure compliance with specifications. Conduct regular assessments to maintain alignment with project requirements.
  • Project Schedule Management: Create and regularly update the Kovach Project Schedule to ensure accurate tracking of project milestones and deadlines.
  • Material Take-offs and Cost Control: Perform accurate material take-offs from shop drawings. Review material take-offs and releases for accuracy, while actively managing cost control for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Reporting and Billing: Generate and submit monthly cost‑at‑completion reports, billings, and billing projections. Draft and track requests for change orders (RCO’s) to manage project variations effectively.
  • Procurement and Logistics: Issue and track purchase orders (PO’s) and material deliveries, obtaining multiple quotes for optimal pricing. Assist with equipment planning and logistics to ensure timely project execution.
  • Communication and Coordination: Draft written communications to general contractors, architects, and consultants. Generate Requests for Information (RFI’s) and communicate changes internally. Maintain effective communication, both internal and external, to facilitate project success.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related experience.
  • Minimum of seven years of project management experience, ideally with a focus on glazing or related façade systems, demonstrating a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects. Strong knowledge of glazing systems, materials, and installation techniques.
  • Excellent project management skills, including proficiency with project management software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
