Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Project Manager SCGT to lead simple-cycle gas turbine projects from planning through turnover to Operations. The role collaborates across a matrixed organization and external partners to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective gas projects.

The successful candidate will manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and risks, ensuring compliance and quality while coordinating multiple teams to drive on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Typically 5–10 years of power generation, industrial, infrastructure, or energy construction project experience.
• Strong knowledge of project execution, contracts, schedules, budgets, risk, quality, safety, and documentation.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and resolve complex technical, commercial, or execution issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead or manage execution of combustion turbines, generators, fuel-gas systems, electrical systems, controls, and site infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain the project execution plan, schedule, budget, forecast, risk register, and performance dashboard.
• Define scopes of work, support RFP development, clarifications, negotiations, and contract award."
• Act as Owner's representative with EPC contractors, OEMs, engineering firms, utilities, suppliers, and authorities.
• Coordinate Development, Engineering, Procurement, Contracts, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Safety teams.
