Job description

JM Fahey Construction Company is a Heavy/Highway contractor seeking a Project Manager/Estimator with a minimum of 5 years of experience and strong communication skills. Experience in HeavyJob, HeavyBid, and Vista project software is a plus, but not a requirement.

Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the preparation of estimates.
• Review and interpret plans and specifications, attend pre-bid meetings, determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
• Possess understanding of estimating techniques, quantity takeoffs, cost control, material pricing, and subcontractor selection.
• Frequently work within tight time restraints to quickly place bids on jobs or help determine the cost feasibility.
• Responsible for the project including cost, schedule, quality, safety and promoting a good relationship with the client.
• Plan, coordinate, schedule, and manage project execution including material procurement and subcontractor execution working with the project superintendent.
• Write subcontract and material purchase order agreements; track and monitor the issuance and return in a contract log.
• Organize, manage, process and complete all payment applications and other job cost reports in a timely manner.
• Knowledge in the use of HeavyBid, HeavyJob, and Vista preferred; experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word Software desired.
• Must possess a valid driver license.
• All employees are subject to pre-employment drug and physical health screen.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field such as engineering or construction preferred; and, have a minimum of five years of appropriate experience in the heavy construction arena.
