Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and guide executive-level initiatives across the College of Engineering. You will partner with college leadership, staff, and external vendors to ensure successful delivery from concept through implementation.

In this role you will apply structured PM methodologies, manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets, and provide regular progress updates to governance groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, information systems, project management, or a related field.
• Significant experience managing large-scale, complex projects in a university or research setting.
• Experience applying structured project management methodologies, governance, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
• Excellent executive communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large, complex cross-functional projects from initiation through closeout.
• Apply structured project management methodologies to ensure consistent execution and delivery of objectives.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Monitor risks and implement mitigation strategies to address challenges and dependencies.
• Prepare executive briefings, reports, and meeting materials for leadership groups.
