Job summary

Carnegie is seeking a Project Manager to lead architectural projects for higher education clients nationwide, guiding campus planning to construction with a strong focus on on‑time, on‑budget delivery. You will coordinate internal teams and external consultants while shaping the student experience through design in a collaborative small‑firm setting.

The role requires extensive knowledge of building systems, REVIT proficiency, and licensure as a U.S. Architect.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from a NAAB‑accredited program.
  • 10+ years of experience on commercial projects in the United States; higher education experience required.
  • Registered U.S. Architect; NCARB certification required; LEED AP desired.
  • Travel within the United States is required approximately 30–50% of the time.
  • Proficiency in REVIT; BIM coordination with consultants and construction administration experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project leadership and client management for 3–4 clients, including at least one major project.
  • Prepare and manage project proposals and AIA contracts.
  • Develop preliminary construction and project budgets.
  • Assist campus planning in project management, budgets and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with consultants and internal teams across design and construction phases.
  • QA/QC of projects and BIM standards adherence.
  • Mentor staff and foster collaborative studio culture in various work environments.
