Job summary

CES Consultants is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Miami, FL, to oversee projects from cradle to grave in an in-office role with occasional travel. The position requires leading project teams, ensuring budgets and schedules, and coordinating with clients and subconsultants.

The candidate must hold a Florida PE license, PMP certification, and an undergraduate engineering degree, with 15+ years’ experience in engineering, design, or construction.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate engineering degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or Structural fields.
  • Florida Professional Engineer license.
  • PMP certification from PMI.
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in engineering, design or construction.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication and management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Follow a standard project management process as defined by PMI.
  • Initiate the project by understanding scope, budgets and schedules, and selecting teams/resources.
  • Plan the project by setting goals, defining roles, and creating task schedules.
  • Manage the project team, budget, schedule, invoices, and monthly accounts payable.

  • Implement changes throughout the process and report to management and client.
  • Close the project with final close-out documents and post-project evaluation.

Position Overview

Senior Project Manager – Miami, FL (In‑office with occasional travel)

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing projects from cradle to grave. This includes participating in the RFP process to win a project, preparing project files, schedules, budgets, finalizing contractual agreements with subconsultants, managing the subconsultants and project schedule, overseeing internal staff, tracking project progress, and reporting to management and the client.

Responsibilities
  • Follow a standard project management process as defined by PMI.
  • Initiate the Project – understand scope, prepare budgets and schedules, and select teams and resources.
  • Plan the Project – set goals and objectives, define roles, and produce task schedules and timelines in accordance with client needs.
  • Manage the Project – coordinate the project team, monitor budget and schedule, prepare monthly update reports and invoices, and review and approve monthly accounts payables.
  • Identify and manage risks to ensure timely delivery.
  • Implement necessary changes throughout the process.
  • Report regularly to management and the client.
  • Close the Project – prepare final close‑out documents, evaluate successes and challenges, and produce a final close‑out report for future improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum undergraduate degree in engineering (Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or Structural).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI.
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication and management skills.
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in engineering, design or construction.
