Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large, multi-unit projects through initiation, planning, execution, and closure. The role involves risk management, contract oversight, and cross-functional leadership across engineering, construction, and operations in the Cedar Rapids area.

Core duties include applying PMI-based methodologies, managing scope, schedule, and cost, and ensuring project outcomes align with strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with PMI/PMBOK knowledge.
• PMP certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 12 months.
• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience on medium to large projects.

Responsibilities

• Apply PMI-based methodologies to achieve scope, schedule, and cost objectives.
• Define deliverables, costs, resources, performance metrics, timelines, and technical objectives.
• Determine staffing and skillsets needed to reduce project risk.
• Manage contracts in collaboration with sourcing personnel.
• Ensure work meets specifications and contract timelines.
• Develop and execute communication and stakeholder management plans.
• Train project teams and ensure smooth transition of deliverables after completion.
• Provide change management and business consulting support as needed.
