Job summary

United Grid Solutions seeks a Project Manager II to lead small to mid-size electric substation, transmission, distribution and communications projects. You will provide project management systems and direction to project teams for safe, cost-effective, quality execution from planning through closeout.

The role requires 5+ years in utilities, strong scheduling software skills (MS Project/Primavera), and solid communication and leadership abilities; PE or PMP preferred. Fort Mill, SC on-site role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in the utility industry.
• Strong fundamentals in project management.
• Proficient with MS Project and/or Primavera scheduling.
• Clear written communications and ability to prepare formal documents.
• Ability to present to large, diverse groups.
• High energy, proactive in fast-paced environments.
• Proven relationship building and navigation of organizational barriers.

• Solid organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of fixed price, time & materials, cost plus and unit pricing.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project per Pike Engineering Policies and Procedures.
• Oversee client and project stakeholders and maintain trusted relationships.
• Handle contract negotiations, change orders, submittals, and administration.
• Implement effective change control and risk management processes.
• Maintain EH&S and Quality programs appropriate to the project.
• Prepare thorough estimates and proposals.
• Conduct project meetings and provide performance feedback.
• Report project status to team, management, and client.
• Ensure accurate project financials and invoicing.
