Job summary

Talisman Advisory Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager for Drinking Water in the United States. The role leads planning through completion of complex water infrastructure projects, with emphasis on technical leadership, budgets, client relationships, and business development.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in drinking water projects, a PE license, and strong leadership and communication skills to guide teams and interface with regulators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in drinking water, water treatment, pump stations, water quality, or utility infrastructure.
  • Proven project management experience with complex engineering projects.
  • Experience working with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager, Drinking Water to lead complex water infrastructure projects from planning through completion. This role combines technical leadership, project management, client engagement, construction oversight, and business development.

The ideal candidate is a senior engineering professional who can guide project teams, maintain quality and budgets, develop client relationships, and provide practical solutions for challenging water infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee multiple complex drinking water and utility infrastructure projects.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, quality control, and risk.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to project managers, engineers, and technical staff.
  • Oversee construction administration, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, payment applications, reports, meetings, and project closeout.
  • Review plans, specifications, calculations, reports, and other technical deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, field personnel, and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on complex project issues.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations for clients, stakeholders, and public meetings.
  • Identify opportunities for new projects and participate in proposals, interviews, and fee development.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and support business development activities.
  • Assist with contracts, subcontracts, scope development, and fee negotiations.
  • Participate in professional organizations, industry events, and technical presentations as appropriate.
  • Promote consistent project standards, quality practices, and risk management across assigned projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in drinking water, water treatment, pump stations, water quality, or utility infrastructure.
  • Proven project management experience with complex engineering projects.
  • Experience working with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while providing direction to project teams.
  • Comfortable working in both office and field environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and project scheduling tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with municipal or public-sector water infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with drinking water treatment and distribution systems.
  • Local regulatory and permitting experience.
  • Additional technical or project management credentials are a plus.
