Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale electrical construction projects, including hyperscale data centers. You will oversee estimating, preconstruction, and all execution phases, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery while controlling costs and resources.

You will manage cross-functional teams, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain client relationships, travel as needed to project sites, and mentor junior staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction project management experience, preferably in electrical construction.
• 5+ years managing electrical construction projects involving complex infrastructure.
• Experience with data centers or mission-critical facilities strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large-scale electrical construction projects, including data center facilities.
• Oversee all phases from estimating and preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate and supervise project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Review project estimates, proposals, contracts, and change orders.
• Monitor billing, costs, and profitability; manage financial performance.
• Establish relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on all sites.
• Identify risks and implement solutions to minimize delays and overruns.
• Lead procurement activities and conduct regular site visits; mentor the team.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee large-scale electrical construction projects within the rapidly growing data center industry. This opportunity is ideal for a proven construction leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience managing complex projects, budgets, schedules, and project teams.

The Senior Project Manager will oversee projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large-scale electrical construction projects, including mission-critical and data center facilities.
• Oversee all phases of project execution, from estimating and preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate and supervise project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Review project estimates, proposals, contracts, and change orders.
• Monitor project financial performance, including billing, collections, costs, and profitability.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Ensure projects meet contractual requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Identify potential project risks and implement effective solutions to minimize delays and cost overruns.
• Manage procurement activities to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and resolve issues.
• Mentor and develop project team members while promoting accountability and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction project management experience, preferably in large-scale electrical construction.
• 5+ years of experience managing electrical construction projects involving complex infrastructure.
• Experience with data centers, mission-critical facilities, or large commercial/industrial construction projects strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, project scheduling, and cost management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and field personnel.
• Experience with estimating, contract administration, change orders, billing, and financial forecasting.
• Proficiency with construction management software and project scheduling tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Richmond, VA and travel to project sites as needed.
