Job summary

The Weitz Company's Iowa Team in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Project Manager II to lead multiple medium-to-large construction projects with minimal oversight. You will coordinate with the Project Superintendent, manage all administrative and field activities, and ensure projects are profitable and on schedule.

Ideal candidates bring at least five years of commercial construction project management, strong leadership and communication skills, and experience with Procore, Bluebeam, JDE or Asta,

Qualifications

• Five+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring staff.
• Proficiency with project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, Asta) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project schedules and address long lead items.
• Negotiate and execute change orders, subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Complete monthly project status reports, owner billings and financial risk assessments.
• Identify value engineering and scope reduction opportunities.
• Ensure the project safety plan is communicated to the team and subs.
• Assist with preconstruction efforts and manage buy-out process.
• Detect constructability issues with project design.
• Understand contracts, budgets, insurances, bonds, and change orders.
