Job summary

Pop-Up Talent in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead ground-up commercial construction from preconstruction turnover through closeout. You will own the project’s delivery, profitability, risk management, and coordination with clients, design teams, and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of PM experience in commercial construction, strong knowledge of means and methods, and proficiency with scheduling, budgeting, and Procore.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial construction project management experience with responsibility for project financial performance
• Understanding of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, contracts, and project controls
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, subcontractor buyout, change management, billing and cost control
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings
• Strong scheduling, procurement, milestones, and schedule risk knowledge
• Experience leading project teams and coordinating with field operations
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients, design professionals, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Procore experience strongly preferred; Procore Financials a plus
• Ground-up commercial construction experience preferred; healthcare construction/renovation/occupied facilities desirable
• Bachelor-level degree or equivalent construction experience preferred

SUMMARY:

• We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction turnover through final closeout
• The Senior Project Manager has primary responsibility for the overall success and financial performance of assigned projects. This position leads the project team, maintains strong client and design-team relationships, protects project milestones and profitability, manages contractual and financial risk, and ensures issues are identified and addressed before they negatively affect the project

REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 7+ years of commercial construction project management experience, with demonstrated responsibility for project financial performance and delivery
• Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, contracts, and project controls
• Demonstrated experience with project budgeting, forecasting, subcontractor buyout, change management, billing, and cost control
• Ability to read and understand architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction documents
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, milestones, procurement, and schedule risk
• Experience leading project teams and coordinating effectively with field operations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, design professionals, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Proficiency with construction project management technology; Procore experience strongly preferred
• Procore Financials experience is a significant plus
• Ground-up commercial construction experience preferred
• Healthcare construction, renovation, and occupied-facility experience is highly desirable
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant construction experience will be considered
