Talbert, Bright & Ellington, LLC, a full-service aviation engineering firm, is seeking a Civil Engineering Designer (Aviation) to manage existing projects and lead civil design for airport-related projects in Charlotte, NC. The role emphasizes airside and landside pavements, drainage, utilities, and NAVAIDs.

The candidate should hold a Civil Engineering degree, be an EIT or able to obtain, and have 2–5 years of transportation project design experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• EIT certification in NC/SC/VA or ability to obtain.
• 2–5 years of civil engineering design experience on transportation projects, aviation experience preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong oral and written communication; analytical and organizational skills.
• High integrity and ethical approach.

Responsibilities

• Design of airfield and roadway projects including pavements, drainage, and utilities.
• Develop specifications and final design documents for projects.
• Manage project budgets and schedules.
• Prepare engineering reports and feasibility studies.
• Coordinate with FAA and state/local regulators.
• Provide training support for interns and technicians as needed.
• Develop project phasing and scheduling.
