Qualifications

• OSHA-30 Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and project execution plans.
• Oversee bidding, procurement, subcontractor buyout, and contract administration.
• Manage project financials including forecasting, cost reporting, contingency tracking, and change order management.
• Coordinate and lead communication between owners, municipalities, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Work collaboratively with field leadership to ensure quality, safety, schedule, and budget expectations are achieved.
• Lead Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in establishing operational procedures and best practices for the Indiana office.

Nicholas & Associates, Inc., a leader in construction services across the education, private development, and multi-family markets, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to help establish and grow our Indiana operations based in Westfield, Indiana. This individual will lead complex construction projects while helping build operational processes, mentor future team members, and support the continued growth of Nicholas East throughout the region.

The ideal candidate is an experienced construction professional with strong leadership, technical, and relationship-management skills who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Nicholas & Associates provides construction management, general contracting, and design-build services across municipal, education, mixed-use, hospitality, athletics and recreation, commercial, and private development markets.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and project execution plans
• Oversee bidding, procurement, subcontractor buyout, and contract administration
• Manage project financials including forecasting, cost reporting, contingency tracking, and change order management
• Coordinate and lead communication between owners, municipalities, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors
• Work collaboratively with field leadership to ensure quality, safety, schedule, and budget expectations are achieved
• Lead Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
• Support business development efforts and assist in cultivating relationships with clients, municipalities, design partners, and industry stakeholders throughout Indiana
• Assist in establishing operational procedures, project standards, and best practices for the Indiana office
• Mentor and train Assistant Project Managers, Project Managers, and future team members as the office continues to grow
• Provide leadership in preconstruction efforts including conceptual budgeting, constructability reviews, value engineering, and logistics planning
• Support design-build and development-focused project delivery initiatives
• Coordinate with accounting and executive leadership on project reporting, cash flow, and risk management
• Promote and maintain Nicholas & Associates’ culture of professionalism, accountability, and relationship-driven service

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years of experience managing commercial construction projects
• Experience in one or more of the following markets preferred: municipal, education, hospitality, mixed-use/multi-family, athletics & recreation, or commercial development
• Design-build and/or developer-led project experience strongly preferred
• Experience managing projects from preconstruction through turnover
• Familiarity with Indiana construction practices, permitting processes, and municipal coordination preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
• OSHA-30 Certification preferred
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and project controls
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Procore, Microsoft Office, and related project management software
• Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
