Job summary

Granicus is seeking a Senior Project Manager for the GXG to define and manage program events, coordinating delivery across Granicus teams and partners. You will translate strategic priorities into executable plans for stakeholder engagement, event execution, and strategic communications.

You will lead delivery across teams, establish governance, and coordinate travel and logistics for domestic and foreign events, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget projects with public sector rigor.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in project management roles (Delivery Manager, Program Lead).
  • 5+ years leading complex projects in multi‑team environments.
  • Strong foundation in PM/Program Management for large communications or stakeholder programs.
  • Proven success in improving delivery predictability in complex programs.

Job Summary

The Granicus Experience Group (GXG) is a digital agency at Granicus that leverages human‑centered and design‑thinking practices to help government and destination customers better connect with the people they serve. GXG works on discover, build, and deliver better experiences and outcomes, and this role focuses on integrated project management for a complex federal program. The Senior Project Manager will define and manage program events, coordinate delivery across multiple Granicus teams and third‑party partners, and translate strategic priorities into coordinated, executable plans for stakeholder engagement, event execution, and strategic communications.

This role leads delivery execution across multiple teams, establishes governance and standard operating procedures, and coordinates travel and logistics for domestic and foreign events, ensuring that projects are on time, on budget, and meet the rigor required in the public sector.

Essential Functions
  • Consistently lead, produce results, and manage scope for simultaneous projects in a fast‑paced environment, delivering on‑time and on‑budget.
  • Partner with leadership to drive cross‑program strategy, identifying opportunities to standardize and scale delivery models.
  • Develop new capabilities for event management and stakeholder engagement, and build and facilitate digital experiences.
  • Serve as a senior adviser to internal delivery teams on stakeholder engagement and digital content.
  • Cultivate and manage collaborative partnerships among customer and internal stakeholders for scoping, resource decisions, and project delivery.
  • Coordinate multiple project team members to lead projects throughout the entire life cycle, from discovery to delivery and optimization.
  • Develop and maintain program and project management artifacts, including custom project plans, schedules, and deliverables that satisfy quality, time, and budget requirements.
  • Analyze program and project roadmaps, identify risks, and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful completion within scope, cost, resources, and time constraints.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proven experience in federal program delivery and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Hands‑on experience with event planning, message development, travel logistics, stakeholder engagement, and digital content creation.
  • Strong ability to design systems‑level solutions across people, process, policy, and technology.
  • Experience stabilizing delivery in complex, high‑visibility programs.
  • Understanding of federal, state, or similarly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of vendor‑led or hybrid delivery models (government + integrators).
  • Experience working with documentation, governance checkpoints, and external oversight.
  • Ability to manage trade‑offs while maintaining team autonomy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Facilitation skills for large‑group planning and cross‑organization forums.
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Use of metrics to improve delivery outcomes, not as punitive reporting.
  • Comfortable producing delivery inputs for leadership briefings and audits.
Experience & Credentials
Required Experience
  • 8+ years in project management roles (Delivery Manager, Program Lead).
  • 5+ years leading complex projects in scaled, multi‑team environments.
  • Strong foundation in Project and Program Management focused on large communications or stakeholder engagement programs.
  • Demonstrated success in improving delivery predictability in complex programs.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting Treasury, IRS, or other federal financial service programs.
  • Experience working alongside CORs, communication leads, and financial services program experts.
  • Prior leadership in cross‑vendor delivery coordination.
Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field.
Other Job Info
  • The role will be performed onsite at the customer offices in Northern Virginia, and/or Washington, DC.
  • The candidate must obtain a confidential security clearance, with sponsorship from the customer agency.
  • Domestic and international travel required; a valid U.S. passport is mandatory.
  • Occasional lifting of objects may be required for onsite event setup and facilitation.
Security Requirement
  • Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance.
  • Position is open only to U.S. citizens who have resided in the U.S. during at least three (3) of the last five (5) years, or who have qualifying service or dependency status in the U.S. Government.

Pay Range

USD $120,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.
