About the Role
MWH is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support and lead critical water, wastewater, and advanced water treatment plant construction projects for municipal and industrial clients, including advanced technology sector clients, based in Salt Lake City, UT.
Essential Functions
- Plan, organize, and staff key field positions or subordinate project managers.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policy boundaries.
- Initiate and maintain liaison with clients and contacts to facilitate preconstruction and construction activities.
- Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site construction managers and superintendents to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate serious situations and implement corrective measures.
- Represent the company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations and strategy meetings.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts, including payments, rental equipment, income, and expenses, to protect the company's interests and maintain good client relationships.
- Collaborate with the project team to complete the MWH Constructors' Management Administration Plan before fieldwork begins, using provided planning guidelines and tools.
- Ensure employees follow safe work practices according to company policies.
- Follow safety guidelines to ensure personal and team safety.
- Provide leadership and technical support to project engineers, field engineers, and superintendents.
- Procure subcontractors and materials through purchase agreements and subcontracts.
- Support change management, cost estimating, revenue and cost forecasting, and scheduling.
Basic Qualifications
- Four-year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent experience and training.
- 8-15 years of experience in construction, design, finance, and management on heavy civil or industrial projects.
- 3-5 years of experience on water or wastewater plant projects.
- Ability to apply innovative management techniques to maximize employee performance.
- Thorough understanding of industry practices and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong business acumen and judgment.
Qualifications
- Safety-oriented with OSHA training.
- Experience with water/wastewater and/or advanced technology treatment projects.
