Pinchin is a multidisciplinary consulting firm that provides a wide range of engineering, building sciences, environmental, civil, and occupational health and safety solutions across the US and Canada. We are facing significant growth as we expand our operations and service offerings across the country. We’re looking for a bright, and motivated Senior Project Manager – Property Condition Assessments to join our Building Science & Resiliency team in the Midwest (Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, or St. Louis).
As the ideal candidate, you are excited to join our project team to help our clients make informed decisions regarding property acquisitions, re-development, and contaminated sites management. In this role you will learn about the business, build your own professional network and work closely with senior professionals in the industry. The Senior Project Manager role is ideal for someone looking to build their skills for career advancement and professional growth. The ideal candidate has at least 6 plus years of experience in the engineering and consulting industry.
A Day in the life of Senior Project Manager
- Lead in keeping the team members and all stakeholders safe.
- Lead project teams in the execution of technical project work, perform senior review, and client management duties where appropriate.
- Assist the Manager in developing and implementing regional strategies aligned with the Company’s goals.
- Oversee project budgets and keep staff on task.
- Work to foster strong relationships with existing Clients and develop new Clients.
- Gather opportunities for work and then prepare/review proposals for potential work.
- Assist the Manager to help drive a culture of effective people management and career development with a focus on growth and preparing successors for key roles.
- Engage in professional organizations, attend conferences when necessary, and/or contribute to technical committees in line with their field of work.
- Lead by example in the office and in the field in accordance with Pinchin’s Core Values and desired culture.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring To The Pinchin Team
- 6 plus years’ experience in the construction/building industry.
- Registered Architect or Professional Engineer, or ability to obtain license within 12 months of hiring, preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering (architectural engineering, civil engineering, construction management, etc.) or architecture field, preferred.
- IIBEC, LEED, CSI, PMI, or other industry credentials are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and an adequate motor vehicle report.
- Technical understanding of the due-diligence inspection process including an in-depth knowledge of performing Property Condition Assessments (PCAs) per ASTM E2018.
- Working knowledge of building enclosure systems (waterproofing, roofing, facades, glazing, fenestrations, air/vapor barriers, etc.) and general construction.
- Working knowledge of other third-party consultant reports typically performed during due diligence/real estate transactions such as environmental site assessments, zoning letters, surveys, seismic risk assessments, and property resilience assessments.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication and technical writing skills.
- Ability to travel 25% of time outside of immediate region.
- Experienced with typical Microsoft Office Suite to support and run a business.
- Ability to visit projects/job sites and work outside during all seasons. This may include working from ladders, boom-lifts, scaffolds, and rooftops.
- Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, and the ability to pass a company physical
