Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience with software implementation project management.
  • Outdoor Recreation industry preferred (State Parks and Hunting/Fishing Licensing agencies).
  • Software life cycle and enterprise software knowledge required.
  • Bachelor's degree, or comparable work experience.
  • SOC Audit and PCI compliance experience a plus.
  • PMP certification.
  • Organizational and time management skills including solid people management and project management experience involving the ability to manage project financials and multiple projects of various size, scope and complexity simultaneously and within budget.
  • Ability to promptly anticipate and address unexpected demands. Able to balance the workload and correctly complete each task while working to allocate time for special projects that arise from time to time.

We are looking for an experienced senior level Project Manager to join the Tyler Outdoor Recreation team to work on our Recreation Management and Recreation Licensing software products. You will partner with our existing and prospective State Parks, recreation, outdoor experience, and Hunting & Fishing agency clients, along with multiple internal teams, to plan and deliver software implementation projects on time and within scope and budget. This position will also support special and one-off projects for the Sr Director of Operations related to audits, financials and contract management.

This is a hybrid role which requires 3 days onsite, in office, per week.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the sales team during the RFP process to provide project timelines and become familiar with contract requirements and potential revenue and fee models.
  • Once the contract is signed, develop and maintain pertinent project artifacts and schedule project meetings with clients and other staff as needed.
  • Own the contract deliverables and coordinate with the Implementation, Product & Engineering teams to scope out any additional development that is required for the implementation
  • Partner with Client Success Managers, Technical Account Managers and Product & Engineering teams to scope out and schedule work for existing clients in addition to new implementations.
  • Manage and assume accountability for all aspects of projects related to the delivery of client software and services including:
  • Acquiring and coordinating necessary resources to meet project needs.
  • Coordinating scheduling and logistics for key client and internal team meetings.
  • Planning and tracking all project activity.
  • Guiding the client through release planning in support of the overall project schedule.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and track progress for assigned initiatives.
  • Tracking project hours and submitting project progress reports by due dates.
  • Managing scope, time, and cost to meet client commitments.
  • Managing communication throughout the team and stakeholders.
  • Managing the quality of project team deliverables.
  • Managing the project schedule and budget.
  • Documenting and reporting status and issues.
  • Identifying, reporting, and managing risks; overcoming project obstacles.
  • Creating presentations, reports, and other project communications.
  • Maintaining project documentation and ensure proper handoff upon completion.
  • Supporting training plans and coordination of project to the support teams
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of all system software and use it as needed to support daily operations.
  • Act as a client liaison and representative communicating client feedback to appropriate Tyler representatives; acting to resolve outstanding issues on behalf of client in a timely manner for assigned projects.
  • Communicate with the implementation staff and management regularly, ensuring timely delivery of schedules and revenue projections; relaying personnel, client, contract, and departmental issues; seeking assistance as needed withmeeting revenue goals; and responding to directives that are issued to meet department goals.
  • Monitor and review revenue recognition and elevate concerns to management as needed.
  • Partner with accounting team to coordinate client invoicing and other contractually billable items
  • Identify and document best practices, process improvements, and operational efficiencies.
  • Operate independently on projects with minimal direction, knowing when to ask clarifying questions.
  • Obtain regular feedback from clients regarding project status and quality of service and take immediate corrective action as required.
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve roadblocks, such as hardware, software, or networking incompatibilities and unresponsive third-party vendors or clients.
  • Communicate completion of milestones to clients and secure formal acceptance from them.
  • Upon project completion conduct meetings with clients to ensure a smooth transition of services from implementation to support and the Client Success team.
  • Travel to client site as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
