Job summary

MXI Partners seeks a senior Project Manager to lead and deliver data center construction projects nationwide. You will oversee scope, budgeting, scheduling, and client satisfaction while mentoring junior staff across multiple concurrent initiatives.

Responsibilities include leading estimating updates through SD, DD and CD, coordinating with owners, engineers and subcontractors, and ensuring QA/QC throughout preconstruction and construction phases. National travel is required.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including self-perform capabilities.
  • Experience in estimating and scheduling.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Data center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for project success, including financial performance, fee retention and client satisfaction.
  • Manage major portions of large projects or overall responsibility for smaller projects.
  • Mentor and develop project management staff.
  • Manage scope changes, quantity take-offs, pricing and project revisions.
  • Build strong relationships with owners, designers, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Lead estimating updates through SD, DD and CD stages.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and develop control estimates.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, bid analysis and contracting plans.
  • Review subcontractor scopes, qualifications and bid packages.
  • Support preconstruction meetings and QA/QC page-turn processes.
  • Assist with CPM schedule development and updates.
  • Co-lead Last Planner efforts with field teams.
  • Coordinate schedules with subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • Review drawings and specifications.
  • Lead document page-turn reviews.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals and shop drawing processes.
  • Participate in BIM coordination.
  • Manage sustainability documentation and contract requirements.
  • Manage subcontractor scopes, changes and invoices.
  • Track workforce and vendor participation goals.
  • Support manpower planning with the Superintendent.
  • Manage project changes, cost tracking and procurement.
  • Prepare monthly cost assessments, pay applications and cost-control reports.
  • Lead construction coordination meetings and monthly project assessments.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training and field safety audits.
  • Work closely with field staff to maintain project safety and coordination.
  • Oversee punchlist and closeout activities.
  • Coordinate as-builts, final documentation, commissioning and testing.
  • Manage owner training alongside field personnel.
  • Develop relationships with clients, architects, engineers, consultants and subcontractors.
  • Participate in conferences, client events and industry activities.
  • Identify and pursue new client and design-firm relationships.
  • Support ongoing company and professional development.
