Senior Project Manager – Systematic Trading

Salary: $225,000–275,000 Base Salary + Bonus

X4 Engineering are proud to be partnering with a leading global multi-strategy investment firm that combines cutting-edge technology, quantitative research, and systematic investing to drive performance across global markets.

As part of the continued growth of their Systematic Trading business, they're looking to hire a Senior Project Manager to lead strategic initiatives across investment, technology, data, and risk. This is a highly visible role where you'll own critical onboarding programmes, drive complex cross-functional projects, and help shape the operational infrastructure supporting systematic portfolio managers and quantitative researchers globally.

Working closely with senior investment leadership, technology teams, and business stakeholders, you'll play a key role in delivering large-scale initiatives across trading infrastructure, research platforms, market data, cloud technologies, and operational processes.

Key Requirements:

• 10+ years of Project Management or PMO experience within a hedge fund, quantitative asset manager, systematic trading firm, or investment bank.
• Strong understanding of the systematic investment lifecycle, including research, portfolio construction, execution, and performance monitoring.
• Experience delivering complex technology, data, infrastructure, or trading platform projects in front-office environments.
• Familiarity with quantitative trading infrastructure, including research environments, back testing platforms, data pipelines, execution systems, and risk frameworks.
• Experience working with market data vendors, alternative data providers, and cloud-based research environments (AWS preferred).
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across investment, technology, risk, operations, and business management teams.
• Proficiency with Jira, Asana, and Confluence/Wiki.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.
• Multi-strategy hedge fund experience.
• Experience supporting systematic PMs, quantitative researchers, or data science teams.
• Knowledge of trading infrastructure, execution platforms, and operational workflows.
• Experience driving process improvement and project governance across large engineering or research organisations.
