ABOUT THE ROLE

Savills’ Project and Program Management (PPM) group is a quality-driven consulting team serving clients across a range of sectors, including corporate, educational, healthcare, hospitality, retail, non-profit institutional, and commercial/residential real estate development.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with at least 8 years of experience leading design and construction projects from inception through closeout, coordinating multiple workstreams across diverse stakeholder groups. This is a delivery-focused, client-facing role responsible for managing all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, design coordination, procurement, construction execution, and project closeout.

This role is suited for a candidate who combines technical design/construction expertise with strong client management, team leadership, and operational discipline. The individual will lead projects independently, manage internal and external teams, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

This role is based in Los Angeles and requires in-person attendance four days per week, with Friday remote unless client needs require otherwise. Travel may be required based on client or project needs.

  • Manage the design review and value engineering process, providing technical oversight
  • Oversee the preparation and coordination of construction documents, ensuring completeness and alignment with long lead and regulatory / permitting requirements
  • Manage the bidding and procurement process for general contractors, including the development of RFPs, bid leveling and contract negotiation
  • Monitor construction progress through regular field reports, schedule analysis, and budget tracking; proactively manage RFIs, change orders, and punch lists
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress
  • Manage all vendors, consultants and sub-contractors involved with the project for QA/QC, day-to-day schedule alignment, contractual obligations and from a project financial perspective
  • Create and implement the project schedule and budget, cost and quality
  • Anticipate potential risks and guide decision-making when unforeseen situations arise
  • Maintain client relationships and develop a network within the industry
  • Lead project team members and direct project activities
  • Support senior team members, when applicable, with executive project-related communications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Architecture, Engineering, Construction
  • Management or a related field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in design/construction methodologies and processes with on- site experience
  • This is a construction-focused technical project management role, not an IT or administrative project position
  • Experience with GMP methodology required
  • Experience managing others and fostering client relationships with a wide variety of personality types
  • A working understanding of budget and schedule management
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and follow-through
