Job summary

Red Elephant | Design + Architectural Signage is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex signage and architectural projects from planning through completion. You will mentor teams, strengthen client relationships, and ensure projects stay on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • 3+ years in architectural, signage, commercial, or design projects.
  • Strong knowledge of architecture, signage production, installation workflows, design documentation, specifications, and vendor management.
  • Experience building relationships with architects, developers, clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, architectural plans, site plans, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with city ordinances, permitting, code compliance, landlord criteria, architectural documentation, and project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior point of contact during project execution, ensuring clients, vendors, architects, design teams, and internal teams remain aligned from kickoff through completion.
  • Lead client communication through email, phone, online presentations, screen-sharing, and in-person meetings while setting clear expectations around scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.
  • Partner with the Client Experience Manager, sales team, production, design, permitting, installation, and accounting teams to translate approved architectural and signage project requirements into actionable execution plans.
  • Conduct and/or participate in site surveys, client meetings, scope reviews, architectural plan reviews, and technical discussions to identify requirements, constraints, risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, milestones, budgets, scope updates, change orders, risk items, and action plans to support quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
  • Proactively resolve project issues, elevate concerns when needed, and make informed recommendations that protect client satisfaction, company profitability, safety, and project quality.
  • Act as the liaison between customers and internal teams, maintaining clear communication, accurate documentation, and strong working knowledge of signage, graphics, architecture, permitting, production, and installation requirements.
  • Mentor and support project team members by sharing best practices, reinforcing company processes, and helping improve project management standards across the organization.
  • Maintain accountability for client relationships, project responsiveness, turnaround times, budget awareness, scope control, and timely project completion.
  • Provide resourceful solutions that meet client requirements while balancing operational feasibility, cost, timeline, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Ensure effective internal and external communication by documenting decisions, tracking deliverables, following up on action items, and keeping stakeholders informed of progress and changes.
  • Follow and improve company processes and policies related to account management, architectural project execution, documentation, vendor coordination, project close-out, and continuous improvement.

POSITION DETAILS:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Project Manager with a structured, proactive, and strategic approach to leading complex signage and architectural projects from planning through completion. This role requires strong ownership, senior‑level decision‑making, and the ability to manage priorities across multiple stakeholders while maintaining excellent client relationships.

Our next Senior Project Manager will partner closely with respected clients, internal teams, vendors, contractors, and leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, aligned with scope, and completed to a high standard of quality.

You will lead the execution of high‑visibility projects, manage long‑term customer relationships, guide project teams, and ensure every phase of the project is clearly planned, communicated, monitored, and completed successfully. You will participate in site surveys and client meetings as required to gather requirements, evaluate risks, review technical details, and identify potential challenges before they impact schedule, cost, quality, or client satisfaction.

Required Experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience required, preferably managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • 3+ years of experience managing architectural, signage, commercial, or design‑related projects required.
  • Strong knowledge of architecture, architectural project coordination, signage production, installation workflows, design documentation, specifications, and vendor management required.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining relationships with architects, developers, clients, vendors, design teams, and internal teams preferred.
