JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title:Senior Project Manager –

MES (Manufacturing Execution System)Exempt

Position Summary

Manages and oversees the daily activities and administration of the North American offices. The Senior Project Manager (MES) is responsible for leading multiple software projects along with internal technology enhancements. The individual is responsible for identifying, planning and managing all project milestones. This position supports internal customer deliverables across the entire organization with a heavy focus on the SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) process and formal Project Management Methodology. Provides executive level administration services and project support to the Customer Activation Director and divisional project resources. The position functions autonomously; the individual works independently and exercises considerable discretion and judgment on a variety of complex and diversified projects and assignments including daily, routine tasks as well as ad hoc initiatives. Works mainly with the management team to ensure all of the division’s requests, projects, etc. are completed within a timely manner.SALARY RANGE & GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATIONSalary Range: $77K to 162K

Geographical Location: We are a distributed global team, but candidates based on the East Coast within the United States (or able to work East Coast hours) are preferred.GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITYKey Responsibilities:

  • Project Management
    • Take on complex, high-profile projects involving planning, organizing, and controlling of resources, procedures and protocols to achieve specific goals mapped out in individual projects
  • Lead and drive internal cross functional teams to meet project deliverables. Provides transparency into tasks and status
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records; exercising a high level of organizational and management skills
  • Create and manage project details identifying what needs to be done when, by whom following formal Project Management Methodology
  • Ensure the SDLC processes are followed
  • Lead project meetings and large group events. Provide leadership in all meetings related to your project
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and filed properly
  • Manage risk and issues through the project lifecycle by performing risk assessment and implementing risk mitigation plans. Remove and or escalate roadblocks as needed
  • Provide clear project scope, vision and timelines to all internal partners (Scrum Master/Developers), the Customer Activation Team, the Product R&D Team, QA, Leadership, Operations, Infrastructure, Solutions, (SMS Service Management Systems Group, People & Culture as well as Sales & Marketing
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with project team and internal business partners.
  • Proactively identifies resource constraints and works with Department Managers on creative solutions
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change, as well as works beyond the existing infrastructure to further optimize and improve existing processes
  • Build a knowledge base of project types to draw from to optimize processes
  • Works closely with clients, internal teams and leadership on all technology components, hardware, infrastructure, software, releases and production support
  • Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required
  • Able to convert the requirements into a process flow and present it to customers Testing and Validation of MES
  • Partner with the functional groups within the IT organization to communicate and clarify business needs, contribute to the development of long-range system plans, and ensure products and services are aligned with business needs
  • Support site-critical MES enhancement projects, including hardware upgrade, process streamline, architecture upgrade, recipe delivery and testing coordination
  • Follow the Computerized Systems Validation process and Software Lifecycle (SLC) methodology to build and qualify/validate systems
  • Lead and drive internal cross functional teams to meet project deliverables. Provide transparency into tasks and status
  • Create and manage project details identifying what needs to be done, by whom following formal Project Management Methodology
  • Works under close supervision from supervisor or senior leadership
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment at all levels of the Company
  • Ability to work independently as required
  • May be required to work Holidays and weekends as necessary to meet critical deadlines for clients
  • Proactively seek and provide recommendations to improve existing processes; including creative ways to reduce administrative duties from project & management teams
  • Maintain relationships with 3rd-party vendors and partners, including researching and selecting the best vendors for a particular task or initiative
  • Anticipates needs based on current business initiatives
  • Addresses and manages a schedule with a high level of prioritization, analyzes schedules, resolves conflicts and remediates issues, solves problems and prepares contingency plans and addresses schedule changes resulting from unforeseen events
  • Provides proactive ideas and solutions for agenda items; particularly those related to improving productivity, innovation, customer responsiveness and optimization of our work /business environment
  • Routinely manages, reconciles and audits expenses to ensure compliance with internal and customer policies
  • Generates reporting for billable services and expenses as needed
    • Other Duties - as assigned on a project basis
Travel Required:

  • Should be prepared to travel 0-20% of the time on an as-needed basis
  • Travel may be required to other US sites for client interface occasionally or to company meetings as scheduled – up to 20% of the time

MINIMUM & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5 years of Project/program management or project leadership experience demonstrating experience management and participating in technical projects with at least 1 full cycle implementation
  • Proven track record in Medical Device industry and/or Life Sciences experience preferred
  • Excellent communication, time management, and decision-making skills
  • Proven expertise in stakeholder engagement, risk mitigation, and cross-functional leadership
  • Software manufacturing experience preferred
  • Professional services management experience preferred
  • Self-motivated with the ability to balance multiple projects under minimal supervision working in a flat organization
  • Ability to meet and enforce deadlines and conduct research into technology issues and products
  • Strong presentation skills speaking to large groups
  • Able to manage customer relationships for long-term success
  • Strong understanding of project management skills and ability to create and to manage project plans.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, team environment
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and evaluative skills
  • 3-5 years technical experience with MES products

GENERAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively message verbally and in writing, using a variety of communication methods
  • Understanding of process flow, able to gather requirements, design, develop and build recipes
  • Experience implementing robust manufacturing systems and processes
  • Experience with any leading MES products like Werum/PAS-X, XFP, Siemens MES systems like XFP, Opcenter etcetera, or upcoming MES products like Autolomous
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management or manufacturing processes, having the ability to implement strategies to improve the efficiency of the process
  • Understanding of integration between MES, PLM, ERP, etc
  • Experience with equipment integration
  • Experience with global scale manufacturing systems development, integration and support
  • Strong skills in methods and technologies to support manufacturing data integrations (SQL, Web Services, data mapping, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience with all phases of Software Lifecycle (SLC) in a GXP environment
  • The ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and external customers at all organizational levels
  • Experience building and managing a project schedule in Microsoft Project or similar project management tool utilizing data-based decision-making (GANTT charts, etc.)
  • Ability to lead medium to large scale projects, including development of plans for scope, timeline, budget, issue management, and managing change
  • Experience conducting and leading team meetings to manage the schedule, identifying risks and reviewing project deliverables
  • Good customer focus, attitude and excellent interpersonal relationships to successfully complete projects
  • Excellent ability to organize time and information to successfully complete projects.
  • Experience with both waterfall and agile project management
  • Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Visio and Outlook)
  • Ability to work within a remote-first model
  • Travel may be required to other US sites for client interface occasionally or to company meetings as scheduled – up to 20% of the time
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization as well as with external clients is required.
  • Must be self-directed and effective working independently, yet equally comfortable contributing in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations
  • Experience handling domestic/international travel arrangements desired
  • Intermediate to advanced-level Word, Power Point, and Excel skills desired
