Job summary

Novax Recruitment Group is partnering with an established structural steel business to recruit a Senior Project Manager. You will oversee steel projects from contract award through completion, taking responsibility for project execution, budgets, schedules and client relationships.

This senior role also includes leading and mentoring the project management team, coordinating design, fabrication and erection, and driving margin improvement across multiple complex projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction or engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Experience managing multiple complex projects and leading teams.
• Ability to read construction drawings and contract documents.

The Opportunity

An established structural steel business is looking to add an experienced Senior Project Manager to its team.

This is a newly created position as the business continues to grow and take on additional project work.

The successful candidate will oversee steel projects from contract award through completion, taking responsibility for project execution, budgets, schedules, client relationships and overall project performance.

This is a senior-level position with responsibility for leading and mentoring members of the project management team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage multiple steel construction projects simultaneously.
• Develop project execution plans covering scope, schedule and budget.
• Coordinate project requirements across design, fabrication and erection.
• Monitor project performance and proactively address risks, delays and cost impacts.
• Review and approve cost reports, change orders and progress billings.
• Take the lead on the company's most complex projects.
• Manage and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
• Delegate responsibilities while maintaining accountability.
• Conduct performance reviews and support team development.
• Act as an escalation point for owners, general contractors, engineers and architects.
• Build and maintain client relationships.
• Resolve disputes and manage contract compliance issues.
• Oversee project budgets, cost forecasting and cash flow.
• Review and approve change orders and subcontractor agreements.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and margin improvement.
• Work closely with general contractors, erectors and shop personnel.

What They're Looking For

• 10+ years of construction or engineering experience.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Proven experience managing multiple complex projects.
• Experience leading project teams.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or similar.
• Valid driver's license for jobsite visits.
