Job Description

Powell's Research and Development team is seeking a Project Manager to assist in successful completion of complex engineering projects. This role would involve managing R&D projects, ensuring they align with Company goals. The PM is responsible for overseeing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables while fostering collaboration between departments.

Powell's Research and Development team is seeking a Project Manager to assist in successful completion of complex engineering projects. This role would involve managing R&D projects, ensuring they align with Company goals. The PM is responsible for overseeing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables while fostering collaboration between departments.

Position does not offer work visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with engineers, technicians, designers, and drafters to ensure satisfactory delivery of assigned projects.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the project life cycle: planning, scope definition, design, execution, and delivery.
  • Ensures projects align with established and approved design specifications.
  • Tracks progress toward milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators, and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Selects, negotiates with, and manages activities of external consultants, or vendors.
  • Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
  • May act as a lead or first-level supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 6-8 years of experience
  • Project Management Certification (PMP or CPM)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Jira, Confluence Software experience preferred

Working Conditions

  • Temperature controlled working environment. Some outside activities may be required.
  • This position may travel out-of-town to attend training and meetings.
  • Typical office environment: may experience minor discomfort from extensive use of a computer display and keyboard; travel between buildings on campus and between campuses.

Physical Requirements

  • Maintaining body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.
  • Sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Typing, punching or applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
