Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience on electrical equipment or large capital projects.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • 8+ years of advanced understanding of electrical industrial systems and integration.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, customer-facing projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEMA, IEC, IEEE, UL and related standards.
  • Proficient with project controls, lifecycle management, and ERP tools (SAP preferred).

  • Establish execution strategies, schedules, milestones, and acceptance criteria.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, field service, procurement, logistics, quality, vendors, and customers.
  • Maintain ownership of project financial performance and cash flow.

About The Role

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for independently leading highly complex customer projects, EPC projects, engineered-to-order (ETO) equipment projects, and strategic customer orders throughout the complete project lifecycle supporting medium and high voltage motors, generators, drive systems, synchronous condensers, for power generation and grid stability initiatives. The role manages projects involving engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, installation, commissioning, and customer acceptance activities.

About The Role

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for independently leading highly complex customer projects, EPC projects, engineered-to-order (ETO) equipment projects, and strategic customer orders throughout the complete project lifecycle supporting medium and high voltage motors, generators, drive systems, synchronous condensers, for power generation and grid stability initiatives. The role manages projects involving engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, installation, commissioning, and customer acceptance activities. This role serves as the primary customer interface and internal project leader for complex, high-risk, high-value, or strategically significant projects requiring advanced project management expertise, strong commercial judgment, and technical leadership. The Senior Project Manager provides leadership across cross‑functional teams, drives project execution, manages risks and escalations, ensures compliance with contractual and quality requirements, and contributes to the development and improvement of project management processes that support organizational objectives.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Independently lead multiple concurrent projects, programs, or strategic customer orders from order handoff through final project closeout
  • Serve as primary customer interface throughout project execution and maintain relationships with key customer stakeholders
  • Establish project execution strategies, schedules, milestones, deliverables, communication plans, and acceptance criteria aligned with contractual obligations
  • Lead project kickoff meetings, execution reviews, risk reviews, and project closeout activities
  • Manage project scope, approve change management activities within delegated authority, and coordinate appropriate approvals when required
  • Lead resolution of complex technical, commercial, operational, and execution issues that may impact project performance
  • Provide leadership and direction during escalated project situations requiring cross‑functional decision making
  • Lead coordination activities across engineering, manufacturing, field service, procurement, logistics, quality, vendors, subcontractors, customers, and leadership teams
  • Influence stakeholders without direct authority to ensure alignment with project objectives and business priorities
  • Serve as escalation point for project issues requiring advanced project management expertise or business judgment
  • Support mentoring, coaching, and development of project managers and project support personnel as needed
  • Conduct customer visits, supplier meetings, manufacturing reviews, and site visits as required
  • Maintain ownership of project financial performance including forecasts, margins, revenue recognition, cash flow, milestone billing, and cost management
  • Perform regular project reviews to evaluate schedule, cost, quality, risks, and contractual performance
  • Identify commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect company interests
  • Manage contractual obligations and ensure execution activities remain aligned with approved commercial commitments
  • Support business decisions through analysis of project performance metrics and financial results
  • Lead identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of project risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure project activities comply with established company procedures, customer requirements, contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and quality management system requirements
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and auditable project records and documentation
  • Lead lessons learned activities, root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve project execution processes, standardization efforts, and operational efficiency
  • Support internal audits, external audits, process reviews, and quality initiatives as required
  • Provide technical and project leadership on complex projects requiring advanced coordination and problem solving
  • Influence project execution strategy and contribute to project management best practices across the organization
  • Support organizational initiatives and strategic objectives within the Energy business
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business requirements
Knowledge and Skills
  • 5+ years of project management experience supporting electrical equipment, rotating equipment, energy systems, manufacturing, industrial systems, or large capital projects
  • PMP certification preferred
  • 8+ years advanced understanding of electrical industrial systems, rotating equipment, motors, generators, power electronics, and system integration
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, customer‑facing technical projects required
  • Advanced knowledge of industry standards and specifications including NEMA, IEC, IEEE, UL, and related technical standards
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, project controls, and project lifecycle management principles
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems, and project management tools (SAP experience preferred)
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities across multiple organizational levels
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical and decision‑making capabilities in ambiguous or high‑risk situations
  • Ability to manage multiple highly complex projects simultaneously
  • Ability to influence outcomes without direct authority
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of technical education, certifications, and directly related experience may be considered.
Travel
  • Travel requirements vary based on project portfolio and customer requirements. Domestic and occasional international travel may be required.
