Job summary

Metric Geo is partnering with a leading employee-owned design consultancy focusing on sustainable infrastructure and collection-systems. They seek an experienced Senior Project Manager to plan, direct, supervise, and control business, technical, financial, and administrative functions of assigned programs and projects.

The role emphasizes managing client relationships, contract negotiations, team coordination, and ensuring QA/QC standards while delivering on schedule and budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in municipal water, wastewater, storm water and paving projects preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships and cultivate new opportunities with business development teams.
  • Define project scope, budget, schedule, and engineering fees during negotiations.
  • Coordinate company resources and assemble effective project teams.
  • Supervise daily activities of technical, production, and business support staff.
  • Prepare work plans and manage project scope, budget, schedule, deliverables, and performance.
  • Promote technical excellence and ensure QA/QC requirements are met.
  • Review contractual and financial performance and direct corrective actions.
  • Monitor project activity and report milestones, risks, and cost/schedule impacts.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentoring and development opportunities.
  • Provide technical and production support as needed.
  • Develop and oversee project-specific safety and health plans.
  • Comply with all applicable company, client, safety, and regulatory requirements.

You will be responsible for planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the business, technical, financial, and administrative functions of assigned programs, projects, and related tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage client relationships and collaborate with business development teams to identify and cultivate new clients and opportunities.
  • Support contract negotiations, including defining project scope, budget, schedule, and engineering fees, while ensuring contractual obligations are met.
  • Coordinate company resources and support departments to assemble effective project teams.
  • Supervise the daily activities of technical, production, and business support staff.

  • Promote technical excellence and ensure established quality assurance and quality control requirements are met.

  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports and provide mentoring, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide technical and production support as needed.
  • Develop and oversee project-specific safety and health plans.
  • Comply with all applicable company, client, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications (required)
  • Bachelors or better in Civil Engineering or related field.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Minimum of 8 years-experience: experience in municipal water, wastewater, storm water and paving projects is preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to convey information effectively; understand ideas and information presented in writing and verbally; including presentations
