Job summary

Energy Systems Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Federal Milcon team. This role involves coordinating all aspects of project execution, helping develop responses to RFPs, and managing budgets, including change orders and billing.

The PM will serve as the primary point of contact for internal staff, contractors, subcontractors, and customers to ensure on-time, on-budget installations with customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with at least six years' engineering and construction experience.
  • Experience running federal construction projects with contract values over $20 million.
  • Proficiency with scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera) and cost-control software (Excel, Word).
  • Familiarity with Procore and Bluebeam for project management.
  • Knowledge of EM-385, OSHA, and Federal/State safety regulations.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification and USACE QCM certification.
  • Ability to obtain clearances to work at military/government facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Development to ensure prompt and accurate estimates/pricing.
  • Understand client contract with ESG.
  • Manage safety, site rules and terms/conditions.
  • Manage scoping, pricing, and negotiating customer change orders during delivery.
  • Lead client communications on progress, costs, and training.
  • Lead project team in selecting contractors/vendors and contract issuance.
  • Develop contracting strategies, bid docs, bid evaluation, and supervise 3rd party contracts.
  • Maintain project schedule and ensure on-time delivery of equipment and supplies.
  • Create and manage construction documentation (submittals, RFIs, change orders, notices, correspondence).
  • Review plans, specs, and contract documents.
  • Prepare monthly pay requests.

Job description

ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Federal Milcon team. Frequent travel (approximately 50-90%), including overnight stays dependent on project location is required. This position is remote with preference given to candidates within NC, SC, or GA areas.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for coordinating all aspects of project execution, assisting in developing responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring a smooth transition from the sales and development effort to the design/construction phase. The Senior Project Manager manages all aspects of project budgets including change management, revenue projections, customer billings, and quarterly updates.

The Senior Project Manager acts as the primary point of contact for all internal personnel, external contractors, subcontractors, and customer agents to coordinate all aspects of project installation. As such, the Senior Project Manager is expected to ensure that proposals are delivered on time, projects are completed on time and within budget, and that customers are satisfied with both the installation process and the end results.

The essential functions of the position include:
  • Coordinates with Development to ensure that prompt and accurate estimates and pricing are achieved and consistent with project goals
  • Understands client contract with ESG.
  • Manages safety, site rules and terms and conditions.
  • Manages all aspects of scoping, pricing, and negotiating customer change orders during delivery
  • During project delivery leads, develops and maintains ongoing contact with the client to schedule and coordinate all work performed and to ensure clear and consistent communication about project progress, costs, and training
  • Leads project team in selection of appropriate contractors and vendors for each project; and contract issuance.
  • Works with the project team to develop contracting strategies, bid document formulation and bid evaluation procedures, development and coordination of final contract documents, administration of client contracts, preparation and administration of all 3rd party contracts and supervision of other contract personnel as necessary
  • Maintains project schedule and manages all contractor and subcontractor work and ensures on-time arrival of all project equipment and supplies
  • Create and manage pertinent construction documentation, such as submittals, RFIs, change orders, notifications, and correspondence.
  • Highly competent in review of plans, specs, and other contract documents
  • Prepare monthly pay requests
Your background includes:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum of six(6) years' engineering and construction-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Engineering and construction-related experience running federal construction projects with contract values greater than $20 million; or an equivalent combination of education and project management experience
  • Proficiency with scheduling in MS Project and Primavera, spreadsheets (Excel, Word), cost control, Procore, Bluebeam, and other project management software.
  • Minimum construction-related requirements include:
    • Exposure to large electrical and renewable projects
    • Experience in working with and directing project teams on government sites
    • Experience in developing schedules and budgets
    • Demonstrated ability to work with others, especially customers, in a professional and ethical manner
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of EM-385, OSHA, Federal, and State safety regulations
  • OSHA 30-hour certification
  • USACE QCM certification
  • Obtain clearances to work at military and other critical government facilities
A bonus to have:
  • Professional certification from an accredited certification program: Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP),PMI-CP. preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from development to project closure
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and project schedules, properly document projects, and work well with customers and ESG team to achieve customer satisfaction on every job
