Job summary

Venergy Group seeks a seasoned Project Manager to develop RFP requirements and oversee construction/renovation across government, commercial and private sectors. You will plan, budget, document, and ensure projects meet time, budget, and scope while adhering to guidelines.

You will coordinate with engineers and vendors, obtain permits, manage resources, and lead Project Engineering functions. This role requires travel and strong regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field or four years of vocational education.
  • State Certification and Licensing (PMP, CGC, CPM or PE) preferred.
  • Construction Quality Management (CQM) Certificate preferred.
  • Ten years or more experience as a Project Manager or Superintendent.
  • Experience with Veterans Affairs Hospitals or Government Projects.
  • Competency in architecture, structural, and/or MEP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office; Pro-Core Construction Software desirable.
  • Prior military experience preferred.
  • Travel is required.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification (Required).

Responsibilities

  • Determines resources (manpower, equipment, materials) with budget focus.
  • Directs, trains, supervises, and manages all Project Engineering functions (RFIs, Submittals, Document Control).
  • Plans construction operations and schedules phases to meet deadlines.
  • Acquires and monitors equipment and materials on multiple sites.
  • Hires sub-contractors and staff and allocates responsibilities.
  • Evaluates progress and prepares detailed client reports.
  • Ensures adherence to health and safety standards and documents issues.
  • Provides resources and staffing to meet safety, regulatory, and project needs.
  • Emphasizes safe use of tools, machinery, and PPE with training.
  • Performs risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Develops and oversees quality standards on all sites.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job description

SUMMARY/OVERVIEW

This position is directly responsible for developing Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements and working collaboratively with the General Superintendent and Site Superintendent to oversee the construction and renovation of buildings and structures in government, commercial and private sectors. The Project Manager’s (PM) job is to plan, budget, oversee, and document all aspects of a specific project(s). The PM is directly responsible for completing building projects on time, within budget, and within scope. The PM is responsible to fill out all necessary paperwork and adhere to local, national, and/or Federal guidelines.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Collaborates with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project.

  • Negotiates contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.

  • Obtains permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.

  • Determines needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations; Monitors and manages project budgets on all sites.

  • Directs, trains, supervises, and manages all Project Engineering functions (RFIs, Submittals, Document Control, etc.).

  • Plans all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.

  • Acquires and monitors equipment and materials on multiple work sites.

  • Hires Sub-contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities.

  • Evaluates progress and prepare detailed reports to the clients.

  • Ensures adherence to all health and safety standards and reports and documents any issues.

  • Provides for adequate resources and staffing to meet safety needs, regulations, best practices, laws and project schedules.

  • Emphasis on the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment including training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures.

  • Performs risk management to minimize project risks

  • Develops and oversees quality standards on all sites.

  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field or Four (4) years of vocational education.

  • State Certification and Licensing (PMP, CGC, CPM or PE), preferred.

  • Construction Quality Management (CQM) Certificate preferred.

  • Ten (10) years or more experience as a Project Manager or Superintendent.

  • Experience working with the Veterans Affairs Hospitals or on Government Projects.

  • Competency in the discipline of architecture, structural, and/or MEP systems.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Proficient in the use of Pro-core or other types of Construction. Software programs, desirable.

  • Prior military experience preferred.

  • Travel is required.

  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification (Required).

ADA/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is medium to heavy demand. Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires good visual acuity and hearing.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times .
