Position Summary:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning and delivery of large, complex construction projects or multiple projects simultaneously, managing, coordinating, and monitoring all workforces and resources that are essential to ensure that work is completed on time and within budget. The Senior Project Manager is responsible to plan and oversee the project to ensure a timely and cost-effective outcome. This includes budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the project. He/she will oversee a smooth transition from the estimate/pre-construction phase to construction, including design management, if applicable, in order to protect the bid position. He/she is responsible for ensuring the project/area is constructed in a safe, ethical manner, and in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• The profit/loss of the project(s) under their supervision through effective contract administration.
• Planning and scheduling, cost control and overall project leadership.
• The Sr. PM may run large complex projects or multiple smaller jobs.
• In coordination with the Superintendent, the Sr. PM ensures that the project is built safely in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Also coordinates with Superintendent regarding labor, equipment, subcontractors, construction means and methods and scheduling.
• Building effective relationships and problem solving with the customers, subcontractors and vendors.
• Supports the estimating staff to prepare bids.

Education, Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Civil Engineering.
• At least 10+ years project management experience in heavy highway or heavy civil construction with an emphasis on project financial and schedule management on projects > $150M.
• P3 and other alternative delivery experience is helpful.
• Experience with estimating heavy highway or heavy/civil construction projects.
• Computer literacy required including Microsoft Office and P6.
• Experience with Viewpoint and HCSS is preferred.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods.
• Requires driving occasionally for up to 2-5 hours.
• Requires working in outdoor weather conditions.
• Minimum physical exertion such as walking, lifting, standing for long periods, bending, or reaching may be required.
• Requires visual ability to perform tasks: preparing and analyzing data, plans, drawings, outlines, viewing a computer, and extensive reading.
• Requires the ability to physically operate standard office equipment i.e., laptop, phone, keyboard, mouse, etc.
