Qualifications

Able to produce and maintain project schedule
Eight (8) years plus as a Field Supervisor or Electrical Project Manager
Knowledge of electrical equipment and material
Thorough knowledge of electrical codes
Contract law familiarity
Advanced estimating skills
Intermediate knowledge of Accubid (or similar estimating software) for change order estimating

Responsibilities

Estimate new work
Verify and enforce compliance with Vader’s standard procedures
Complete performance reviews for assigned direct report(s)
Negotiate purchases and subcontracts
Monitor labor, material, and direct job costs
Communicate project requirements to field
Review and produce shop drawings if necessary
Prepare and review submittals
Maintain and build upon customer relations
Document all project activities
Properly close out projects and maintain history
Lead and mentor project staff at all levels

Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Senior Project Manager based in Bellwood, IL who is positioned to grow into a Project Executive role. This position is intended for a seasoned PM ready to learn Vader’s processes, lead complex projects, and advance to the next level of leadership. The role requires regular travel to Chicagoland-area project sites, with occasional domestic travel (possibility of 20–40%) as project needs require.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Estimate new work
Verify and enforce compliance with Vader’s standard procedures
Complete performance reviews for assigned direct report(s)—recognize great performance
Negotiate purchases and subcontracts
Breakdown labor from estimate for monitoring
Monitor labor, material, and direct job costs
Communicate project requirements to field
Review and, if necessary, produce shop drawings
Prepare and review submittals
Coordinate tools needed with warehouse / prefab and Superintendent
Maintain and build upon customer relations
Review contracts and subcontracts and negotiate proper language
Verify contract compliance
Lead, prepare and document project start up meetings
Price and negotiate Change Orders
Communicate with customers
Document all project activities
Perform short interval plan with Superintendent and/or foremen
Prepare correct and thoughtful project projections
Attend job site meetings
Negotiate rental of equipment and track status
Procure construction materials; assist Purchasing in producing purchase orders and releases
Prefabrication Implementation
Billings and collections each month
Properly close out projects and maintain history
Project profitability
Mentor project staff at all levels
Teach and Learn
Comply with Vader’s Safety Program
Provide quality customer service to internal and external customers
Contribute to strategic initiatives

Minimum Knowledge and Experience

Compensation

Anticipated salary: $125,000–$165,000 per year

The anticipated salary range for this position reflects our good‑faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and demonstrated leadership capability.
