Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Architecture) in Arlington, VA. You will guide design and delivery of spaces and experiences that advance community well-being globally, leading multi-discipline teams and coordinating with clients, marketing, and production teams.

The role emphasizes project leadership, QA/QC, and mentoring, with a strong employee-owned culture and comprehensive benefits. Candidates should have a architecture background and extensive PM experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture required.
  • 10 years related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years project management experience.
  • Registered Architect required.
  • Must be able to lead a team on projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Knowledge of local and regional market.
  • Strong planning and mentoring skills.
  • Commitment to employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle (development to close-out).
  • Responsible for all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high technical complexity.
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
  • Establish and maintain client relations and participate in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through the project life cycle and ensure deliverables are on schedule.
  • Track financial aspects and adjust work effort to stay within budget and schedule.
  • Work with leadership for periodic project reviews and QA/QC procedures.
  • Supervise large project staffs and mentor less-experienced PMs.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to client contract requirements.
  • Background check will be conducted.

In the role of Senior Project Manager (Architecture), we'll count on you to:

  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle (from development & initiation to close-out)
  • Responsible for all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, involving a large project staff
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule
  • Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers
  • Due to client contract requirements, only candidates with US citizenship will be considered for this position
  • This position is subject to a government background check
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED
  • PMP certification
  • Preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications

Glen Allen, VA: $120,120-$205,920. Richmond, VA: $126,126-$180,180.
