Job summary

HDR, a leading architecture and design firm, seeks an Administrative Project Coordinator to support our Architecture studio. You will work with Project Architects to organize construction administration tasks and manage document workflows using Newforma.

This role emphasizes teamwork, precise filing, and timely communications with contractors and owners, with a strong commitment to HDR's employee-owned culture and inclusive environment. Local candidates in Arlington or Glen Allen will thrive.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

  • Work with multiple Project Architects to organize, process, and follow up on Construction Administration tasks via Newforma software.
  • Help track Construction Administration processes, subconsultant RFI and Submittal responses, and timely return of correspondences to Contractor/Owner.
  • Apply company QA guidelines and document management procedures.
  • Collaborate with Architecture Project Managers and project teams as needed.
  • Create and maintain paper and electronic files; assist with meetings and presentations.

  • In the role of Administrative Project Coordinator in our Architecture studio, we’ll count on you to:
  • Work with multiple Project Architects to organize, process, and follow up on Construction Administration tasks via Newforma software.
  • Help track Construction Administration processes, subconsultant RFI and Submittal responses, and help administer timely return of all correspondences to the Contractor/Owner.
  • Apply company quality assurance guidelines and procedures for project document management.
  • Work with multiple Architecture Project Managers and project teams as needed.
  • Create and maintain paper and electronic files.
  • Assist with and help coordinate meetings and presentations.
  • Exhibit professionalism with clients (internal and external).
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working within the Architecture/Engineering/Construction Industry
  • Local candidates preferred
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 1 years related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
