Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a high-level planning, project and portfolio leader. You will oversee scope, resources, and schedules across divisions and corporate oversight.

This role reports to the Senior Manager of IT Delivery and supports investment planning, prioritization, and forecasting in a hybrid setting. You will drive governance, reporting of strategic progress, and continuous improvement, while ensuring compliance and coordination with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience delivering customer-oriented solutions and support.
  • Experience communicating with all levels of company management.
  • Experience executing large corporate programs across multiple operational and technical areas.
  • Solid knowledge of Agile portfolio management tools, methods and practices.
  • Ability to present information to executive leadership and diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Assist business division leaders in identifying data to support planning, investment prioritization and forecasting.
  • Facilitate portfolio sync meetings and oversee tracking and reporting of progress toward strategic goals.
  • Implement light-weight controls to ensure goal setting and indicators are developed.
  • Report metrics related to progress on strategic projects and health/performance metrics.
  • Maintain compliance and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with Ignite for coaching and implementation of improvements.
  • Develop standardized planning tools and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.

Job description

You will provide high-level planning, project and portfolio leadership within a division or from a corporate oversight perspective. Controls project scope, resources (people and budget) and schedule. In some divisions provides leadership and facilitation for divisional planning or profit and growth planning processes. You will report to the Senior Manager of IT Delivery Position Compensation Range: $88,000.00 - $145,000.00 Pay Rate Type: Salary Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.

Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Assist business division and department leaders in identifying and gathering appropriate internal data to support the planning process including investment planning, prioritization, and forecasting.
  • Facilitates portfolio sync meetings, and provide oversight for tracking, monitoring and reporting of progress towards strategic goals by agreement and reporting.
  • Implements light-weight controls that ensure teams are developing goals and indicators.
  • Responsible for reporting metrics related to progress on strategic project portfolio and operationalizing the tracking and reporting of health and performance metrics of value.
  • Maintain internal and external compliance and audit readiness.
  • Maintains link to continuous improvement opportunities, and partners with Ignite for coaching and implementation
  • Develops standardized business planning tools and methodology to support the planning process, and move us toward continuous improvement and best practice compliance.
  • Define guardrails for event best practices.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-oriented solutions or support.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating with all levels of company management.
  • Demonstrated experience executing large corporate programs involving multiple operational and technical areas across the organization.
  • Solid knowledge of Agile portfolio management tools, methods and practices.
  • Present information at all levels of the company, including executive leadership.
Travel Requirements
  • Up to 10%.

You will work 10 days per month from the office in this hybrid role. You should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of Madison, WI 53783 #LI-Hybrid
