Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to develop and lead internal audit programs, ensuring compliance with policies and standards. You will prepare management reports with improvement recommendations and work with process owners to implement action plans.

The role involves moderate to high complexity engagements, reporting to the Senior Manager of Internal Audit. A hybrid work model is expected, with a preference for candidates near Madison, WI or Boston, MA.

Qualifications

Job description

Develop, plans, and leads the execution of internal audit programs for us to ensure compliance with best practices and our policies, procedures and standards. Prepare reports for management on the results of engagements, providing recommendations on improvements. Lead identification and analysis of strategic, operational, legal/regulatory, financial and IT risks. Report audit findings and works with process owners to develop appropriate management action plans. Generally assigned engagements of moderate or high complexity. You will report to the Senior Manager of Internal Audit. Position Compensation Range: $80,000.00 - $131,000.00 Pay Rate Type: Salary Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Identifies and analyzes risks to our organization.
  • Partners with second lines of defense to identify risk from internal and external sources.
  • Completes internal audit's risk assessment to document risks and controls.
  • Creates test plans and complex audit programs to assess the design and operating effectiveness of main controls.
  • Conducts test procedures as outlined in detailed audit program.

Specialized Knowledge Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-oriented solutions or service.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large projects.
  • Demonstrated insurance industry experience or demonstrated knowledge of risk management or audit principles
  • Demonstrated experience communicating/presenting complex and independent concepts and unbiased fact-based decision-making.

We will expect you to work 10 days per month from the office. You should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783 or Boston, MA 02110 #LI-Hybrid
