Job summary

Baker Hughes in Houston is seeking a Senior Project Installation Manager to lead the installation, commissioning, and warranty management of turbomachinery equipment across North America.

You will coordinate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and HSE teams, act as the primary customer interface, and drive safety, quality and project profitability while delivering on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute installation, commissioning, startup, and warranty management of turbomachinery equipment, on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
• Financial Management: Manage project financials including costs, revenues, margins, and cash collections.
• Team Leadership: Indirectly lead and mentor installation technicians and engineers, fostering safety and continuous improvement.
• Technical Support: Provide engineering input and troubleshooting during installation to ensure successful delivery.
• Customer Frontline: Act as primary customer contact during installation to ensure satisfaction and safety.
• Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies, implement safety protocols and training.
• Documentation: Maintain up-to-date project docs, reports, and as-built drawings.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency and quality.
• Executive Communication: Report status, milestones, and issues to senior management.

As a Senior Project Installation Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Project Management: Planning, coordinating, and executing the installation, commissioning, startup, and warranty management of turbomachinery equipment, ensuring projects are being completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while cultivating and driving a culture of execution, continuous improvement, and innovation.
• Financial Management: Managing project financial performance, including planning and reporting for assigned projects in terms of costs, revenues, contribution margins, and cash collections.
• Team Leadership: Indirectly leading and mentoring a team of installation technicians and engineers, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Technical Expertise: Providing technical support during the installation process and troubleshooting issues as they arise to ensure successful project delivery.
• Customer Frontline: Serving as the primary point of contact for customers during the installation phase, addressing concerns, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and promoting Baker Hughes’ commitment to safety and quality.
• Compliance: Ensuring all installation activities are complying with relevant health and safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies, while implementing safety protocols and conducting regular safety training sessions.
• Documentation: Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date project documentation, including progress reports, installation records, and as‑built drawings.
• Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices to enhance installation efficiency and overall quality.
• Executive Communication: Regularly communicating project status, key milestones, and critical issues to senior management, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational goals.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
• Have a minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, preferably within installation and commissioning of turbomachinery equipment.
