Job summary

Mark III Construction, Inc. is seeking a Project Executive (PX), a senior operational leader responsible for managing a portfolio of complex mechanical construction projects and leading high‑performing project teams.

This role serves as the #2 leader within the division, driving execution, profitability, client relationships, and team development. Based in California, the PX balances strategic oversight with hands‑on execution, ensuring project success from preconstruction to closeout and growth

Qualifications

• 10+ years construction experience (mechanical preferred).
• Proven leadership managing multiple PMs and large project portfolios.
• Strong financial acumen (forecasting, cost control, margin management).
• Experience with complex commercial, industrial, or mission‑critical projects.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop people and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of large‑scale mechanical projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Lead project planning, job start meetings, and execution strategies.
• Ensure strong project setup, staffing, and mobilization.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify progress, quality, and risk mitigation.
• Drive timely project closeout and post‑job performance reviews.
• Own revenue, cost, and gross profit performance across assigned projects.
• Monitor forecasts, labor productivity, and cost trends.
• Lead corrective actions to protect or recover margin.
• Partner with PMs and Division Manager to achieve business plan targets.
• Lead, mentor, and develop PMs, APMs, and Project Engineers.
• Ensure role clarity, accountability, and adherence to standards.
• Drive performance management and career development plans.
• Support recruiting efforts, interview candidates, and help build bench strength.
