Job summary

Langan seeks a Senior Project Environmental Engineer, Scientist, or Geologist to join its collaborative team in Irvine, CA. This role identifies and manages environmental projects, conducts research and analysis, and supervises field investigations and laboratory work.

You will lead diverse projects, solve environmental challenges, and help restore blighted properties for productive reuse while protecting the environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Science; Master’s degree preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of EPA, CERCLA, and RCRA regulations.
• 10+ years of practical experience with environmental investigations and remediation projects.
• Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Strong people, project, and client management skills.
• Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software.
• Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex analyses for specific portions of engineering and environmental projects.
• Identify and pursue new clients, develop work within projects, and attend business development meetings.
• Oversee junior staff and provide coaching, and participate in hiring decisions.
• Supervise field activities and ensure data collection and laboratory analyses are correct, within budget, and on time.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables; prepare progress reports and invoices.
• Organize, write, and edit reports, proposals, and other documents.
• Coordinate with other offices and disciplines as needed.
• Interface professionally with clients, contractors, staff, and project personnel.
• Perform other duties as requested.
