Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a seasoned Manager, Project Engineering to lead a team of technical leaders across Missile Propulsion programs in the Los Angeles area. The role provides strategic direction, ensures program execution, and aligns staffing with program milestones.

The ideal candidate has extensive engineering leadership experience, strong cross-functional communication, and the ability to obtain a US Secret clearance. Travel and collaboration across sites are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Graduate Degree and 7+ years of related engineering experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with government propulsion customers and prime contractors.
• Experience in leading MRB meetings with program stakeholders.
• Experience in leading engineers across multiple engineering backgrounds.
• Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create vision, strategy, and execute against the plan to build a top engineering team.
• Oversee and coordinate project engineering leads for various programs.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership and program management to meet milestones.
• Provide labor and resource planning to ensure proper staffing.
• Performance management, objective setting, succession planning, and talent development.
• Conflict resolution and development of performance improvement plans.
• Mentor and coach to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Travel for position: 5-10%.
