Job Description Summary

Project Engineering Manager (PEM) will lead the technical coordination and integration of major equipment and product subsystems for large hydro projects. This role works closely with Product Management, the Engineering Centre of Excellence, the Project Office, customers, and external partners to manage interfaces, support execution, and ensure technical, cost, and performance targets are met. This position is based on site in Phoenix, Arizona, at the customer location.

Responsibilities
  • Define and discuss customer requirements and ensure system conformity to contractual specifications.
  • Identify alternatives and optimization opportunities that could impact design, supplies, or site operations based on project strategy.
  • Improve, coordinate, and control interfaces internally, for customers and partners.
  • Deliver specifications and interface data to partners (system, turbines, generators, and civil engineers).
  • Provide work packages to the Centre of Excellence for the project, including client requirements, interfaces, planning, performance, reliability and costs in accordance with what has been sold.
  • Identify technical risks and opportunities.
  • Act as technical point of contact for customers and external partners.
  • Accept or reject changes in case of deviations from customer requirements or GE standards.
  • Participate in project review meetings.
Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with turbine/generator project execution.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%.
Desired Characteristics
  • Experience with pump storage plants and/or hydropower turbine and generator projects is highly preferred.
  • Customer-facing experience and/or technical coordination experience in a project environment.
  • Relevant experience in planning and management of work packages.
  • Significant experience managing in a global matrix environment.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Proven leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Team-player, positive and engaged contributor to the team, willingness to learn and adapt to business needs.
Location

Based on site in Phoenix, Arizona, at the customer location.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: $113,200.00 – $188,800.00 per year, with geographic differentials applied in certain areas. Discretionary annual bonus eligibility.
