Job summary

Natural Systems Utilities is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Engineering team in wastewater design, including pump stations and treatment plants. The role involves leading design efforts, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and overseeing project planning and construction administration in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

The engineer will mentor junior staff, prepare spec/doc packages, and ensure compliance with codes and permits while interfacing with regulators

Qualifications

• PE licensure and relevant wastewater design experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, hydraulics, piping, and instrumentation.
• Experience leading design or portions of design.
• Experience coordinating multi-discipline teams.
• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to train junior staff, including remote teams.
• Operations experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects and lead design efforts, coordinating junior engineers.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, and proposals for clients and regulators.
• Oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and scope definition.
• Mentor and direct staff on technical tasks and review work.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies professionally.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for quotes.
• Conduct site inspections and manage construction administration.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and permits.
