Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support delivery of major transportation and mass transit infrastructure.

You will work with PM, Superintendent, and leadership on project controls, cost tracking, change management, and contract administration. Ideal candidates have 10+ years of experience on heavy civil, rail, transit, or electrical infrastructure projects, and strong knowledge of cost forecasting and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of construction industry experience.
• Experience on large, complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and project documentation.
• Experience with cost tracking, change management, and financial reporting.
• Ability to analyze labor costs, quantities, production, and project performance.
• Strong understanding of project controls and contract administration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Project Managers, Superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, owners, and field personnel.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in the execution of large-scale transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, and project requirements.
• Track, prepare, review, and process Change Orders, Change Proposal Requests, OWNER pay applications, and related documentation.
• Identify changes in project scope and develop supporting documentation for compensation or schedule impacts.
• Monitor costs and maintain accurate cost and production reports.
• Assist with cost forecasting and financial reporting for project leadership.
• Coordinate with field operations to verify installed quantities and completed work.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, drawing revisions, and other technical documentation.
