About the Transportation Business Unit

We provide comprehensive transportation engineering services for projects of all sizes — from major interstate systems to local roads. Our services include roadway and intersection design, corridor improvements, bridge replacement and rehabilitation, and environmental documentation. Our team of engineers works closely to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable transportation solutions that benefit communities and improve infrastructure across regions.

What You'll Do:

• Roadway Design: Design and prepare plans for highway and local road projects.
• Quality Assurance: Lead internal reviews to ensure plans meet technical standards.
• Mentorship: Guide and support junior engineers’ professional growth.
• Proposal Development: Assist in preparing and negotiating project proposals.
• Project Scheduling and Budgeting: Develop design schedules, cost estimates, and manage project timelines and budgets.
• Client Interaction: Build and maintain strong client relationships through presentations and communication.
• Scope and Change Management: Recognize scope changes and assist with contract negotiations when needed.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, technicians, and staff to execute projects successfully.

What You'll Bring:

• Roadway Design Experience: Proficiency in designing plans for interstate and local roads, with ODOT design experience preferred.
• Licensing: PE license in Ohio or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with AASHTO, FHWA, and ODOT standards.
• Software Skills: Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD.
• Project Management: Experience managing projects, proposals, timelines, and budgets.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Ability to mentor and lead teams effectively.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Educational Qualifications:

• BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
