Job summary

Mott MacDonald in North America seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead transmission, substation, protection and control, and energy infrastructure projects. The role focuses on technical leadership, design excellence, and client collaboration across utilities and industrial clients.

You will mentor engineers, drive engineering quality, and help advance grid reliability and renewable integration while operating in a hybrid office setting with strong cross-disciplinary teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in one or more southwest states.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical utility, power systems, transmission, distribution, substation, and/or energy infrastructure projects.
• Experience delivering projects for electric utilities, municipalities, renewable energy clients, or industrial facilities.
• Strong understanding of transmission and distribution systems, substation design, utility protection schemes, power system studies, and applicable industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for transmission, substation, power systems, and/or utility infrastructure projects.
• Review designs for QA/QC compliance and sign off calculations and reports.
• Coordinate with project managers to plan schedules and staffing.
• Mentor engineers and support professional development.
• Contribute to standards, innovation, and risk mitigation.
