Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to provide technical leadership for civil and structural engineering services supporting transmission, substation, grid modernization, and energy infrastructure projects in Texas and the Southwest.

You will lead complex projects, mentor engineers, manage client relationships, and help grow our civil and structural capability across the region, while delivering excellence in project outcomes and safety.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
10+ years delivering civil and structural services for utility projects.
Experience with high voltage transmission/substation programs (138kV+).
Strong knowledge of design codes (ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318, NESC).
Proficiency with engineering software and utility applications.

Responsibilities

Provide senior technical leadership for civil/structural activities in transmission, substation, and utility programs.
Act as Engineer of Record or discipline lead on major projects.
Develop engineering scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
Mentor junior engineers and lead multidisciplinary teams.
Promote engineering standards and best practices.
