Job summary

Axiom Space seeks a highly capable Project Engineer to lead complex Crew systems projects from concept to completion at the Spaceport Facility in Houston. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 11- 15 years’ experience leading Engineering projects.
• Spaceflight hardware design background preferred.
• Experience with NASA requirements and contractual agreements and spaceflight hardware development and certification preferred.
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
• Experience with 3D CAD software (SOLIDWORKS) and PDM preferred.
• Experience with project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Experience with Atlassian suite preferred.
• Track record of delivering in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Good judgement to solve problems and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own a single large or highly complex project, providing SME in project engineering practice.
• Provide SME on requirements development and traceability for the project.
• Own the schedule for a single large or highly complex project.
• Own the risk picture for the project and coordinate work scope.
• Resolve technical disputes escalated from lower level project teams.
• Represent the project’s technical status to leadership.
• Provide technical mentorship across the Project Engineer ladder.
• Lead engineering assessment for proposals or new business within the program.
• Pilot new technical standards and process changes as directed.
