Job summary

Axiom Space seeks a Senior Project Engineer III to lead complex Crew system projects for the first commercial space station. Onsite at the Spaceport Facility, you will report to the Manager, Project Engineering and drive design and development from concept to completion.

Responsibilities include creating schedules, managing requirements, and mentoring junior engineers while ensuring NASA standards and regulatory compliance are met. Strong cross-team coordination is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 5–8 years leading engineering projects.
• Spaceflight hardware design or NASA requirements experience preferred.
• Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS and project management tools (MS Project, Primavera P6).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and manage large or moderately complex scope of work.
• Develop and maintain project requirements and schedules.
• Identify and manage risk; monitor status and communicate to leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage cost/schedule reporting as CAM equivalent.
• Review supplier submittals and coordinate with Supply Chain on sourcing questions.
• Ensure compliance with NASA standards, FAA regulations, and safety requirements.
