Company Description

Timmons Group is currently accepting applications for experienced Senior Civil Project Engineer/Project Manager candidates in our Raleigh Residential Land Development group.

The Senior Civil Project Engineer/Project Manager is responsible for delivering technically sound products to meet internal and external client expectations. They will also make significant design decisions for assigned projects. The Senior Civil Project Engineer/Project Manager will assist with marketing and business development and act as a Project Manager for assigned projects while remaining technical.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• Makes major design decisions that meet the needs of external customers while coordinating the impact of such decisions on related project efforts.
• Proactively identifies technical, schedule, or financial issues and seeks resolution from the Project Manager and/or the client as appropriate.
• Assists in bidding or contractor selection.
• Monitors construction and supervises field personnel assigned to tasks, data collection, or specific projects.
• Responds to contractor questions and issues and prepares and issues project addenda as needed.
• Recommends and prepares change orders.
• Participates in creating engineering services proposals, including estimating time schedules and costs.
• Acts as a technical expert on assigned projects and as Project Manager on smaller or specialized projects.

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, scientific area, or equivalent work experience.
• Professional registration (P.E., L.S.) in one or more states is strongly preferred.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is required.
• Seven or more years of design/engineering experience with the ability to sign engineering documents.
• Strong technical verbal and writing skills, with the ability to interpret technical literature and plans.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, applying professional knowledge to routine and complex tasks.
• Participation in external activities representing the firm, including professional memberships and community outreach.
• Development of financial project management skills through assigned projects.
